Estimation The amount payable towards furniture is divided in two parts; material cost and labor cost. Material cost goes towards all kinds of material need to be purchased for your furniture work. We charge labor cost as 35% of material cost (This means, nearly 75% of total furniture cost goes into material cost). However if you are going to use wood like Green Ply (which is a little costlier), we reduce labor charges to 30%. You can have full control over material selection and that's where quality is ensured. You can take our wood experts with you, and the expert will tell you merits and demerits of all kinds of woods. You can select wood depending upon your budget and requirement. Therefore total cost of furniture shall be 1.35 times of material cost (1.3 in case of Green Ply). FAQ Q. What kind of furniture you make? A. Almost all kinds of. We make household as well as office furniture. We have a huge collection of furniture designs and you can choose, the design you like. Q. Why don't you charge on contract basis or square-feet basis? A. These charging schemes lack transparency and reduce quality, because material cost + labor cost is fixed. Therefore we don't follow this scheme. The way we work does not compromise with quality and owner is kept informed about each and every expense/charge. For example, if you get a wardrobe made on square-feet basis, the contractor will not care about wardrobe internals (like drawers, shelf etc) leaving you unsatisfied. Q. Which is better in lamination work and varnish work? A. Varnish work is considered better in terms of finishing and durability but at an extra cost. Varnish works requires an extra wood called veneer, the varnish is made over. However with so many new laminations designs coming in, lamination work can give you look as good as varnish work. Q. What is difference between Plywood, Blackboard and Rubberwood? A. Plywood is a compresses timber and is better in quality than blackboard, and therefore is costlier than blackboard. Rubberwood is a soft wood and is easy to give finishing over it, but it is not durable. It can be used for table, chair, showpiece etc but not recommended for heavy furniture in kitchen/bedroom. Q. What is Green Ply (or similar woods)? A. Green Ply is a pre-laminated melamine faced 3 layered particle board that is highly abrasion resistant. Its cost is almost double of blackboard wood, but the furniture life is ensured because this wood does not get spoiled even in water. Q. What is difference between hardwood and softwood? A. These are general terms. When you handle soft and hardwoods you will notice that there is not a great difference between them in hardness The terms refer to a sorting of timbers into two groups, which is not based on hardness, but on the type of tree a timber comes from.
